On The Wall: Tamara Gonzalez, 2021
On the Wall: Tamara Gonzales is the 2021 installment of PCG’s annual mural exhibition program. In a painted and drawn mural she calls “Cosmic Recess,” Gonzales, an artist based in NYC, brings together myriad visual references, including contemporary abstract painting, ancient and indigenous Central American spirituality, and whimsical elements of Latinx folklore and vernacular culture.
Student workers and art students alike got the chance to pick up a paintbrush and help out in creating this mural, an experience unlike anything most of them had done before!
There will be a Virtual Exhibition Opening on Wednesday, March 17 from 6-7 pm, in which artist Tamara Gonzalez will give a virtual tour of the gallery and discuss her work with PCG’s curator at large Kate McNamara.
